Desbourough Sailing Club
Pleasantly situated on the banks of the River Thames at Shepperton, Middlesex on a wide stretch of the river overlooked by Shepperton Manor, the club house is surrounded by broad lawns that run to the waters edge. The Club offers racing, family sailing and social events in a beautiful setting. SailingShepperton Reach is a long stretch of the River Thames which includes a sharp easterly bend and provides exciting sailing. It is possible to sail between Shepperton Lock and Walton Bridge unhindered by bridges or overhead cables. It has the advantage of being sheltered from much of the motor cruiser traffic from Weybridge to Walton-on-Thames which bypasses the Club down the Desborough Channel. The Channel also assists in minimising river currents after wet weather.
